A minute can seem like eternity~~

The Killing
I crouched behind a barrel
in the dark cold lane,
I knew not how long I was there,
It was beginning to rain.
I clenched my fingers around the trigger,
waiting for the right time,
I held my breath, I stood as still
I was about to prevent a crime.
I thought about the murders
I was about to avenge
This man was a serial killer,
This was bittersweet revenge.
I hid my badge inside my coat,
I looked as inconspicuous as I could,
I caught a glimpse of my victim's side,
The assassin's aim was far from good.
He glanced around in anxiety,
his face I saw, tight with worry,
my level of hatred began to rise,
my mind and heart filled with fury.
I gritted my teeth and squinted my eyes,
I lifted my pistol and pointed to him,
I took aim and sent up a prayer,
my chances thankfully were not too slim.
The rain was working against me,
and my victim was concentrating on his own,
It then struck me not a moment too soon,
I put all my effort into stifling a groan.
My victim's revolver was pointed,
to a stray soul on the pave,
I had to act fast,
My only aid was to be brave.
I took perfect aim once more,
and called the name of the holy one,
there was a stiff and deafening shot,
My war and mission was won and done.

On the island of Despair

On the Island of Despair

Barren land for miles,
I start to lose hope,
Six others beside me,
Clinging on to life's thin rope.
Will anyone ever come?
To take us away from this island of despair?
Does anyone in this world,
know, love or even care?

The crashed copter,
No more than a hundred yards away,
we begin to scream and shout,
Our strengths begin to fray.
We soon realize,
we are the only populators of this land,
we are unaccompanied,
except for acres of white sand.

As we stand on a seashore,
I bend down and take a close look,
At the fine sand at my feet,
What I saw, I hoped I had not mistook.
A writhing fish,
lay at my feet,
Without water and only sand,
the end of its life, it would meet.

I watched and stared in horror,
It only took a glance,
to say for sure that the little creature,
against death, did not stand a chance.
Without thinking twice,
I picked up the wriggling mass
and set him in his aquatic home,
His life he could regain at last.

My recently done deed
made warmth flood my heart,
I felt a strong surge of courage,
It was time to make a new start.
Nightfall was creeping in,
I called on my six teammates,
it was time to play the game of survival,
With no arguments, no debates.

In the darkness, we schemed,
we were going to make it out
of this confining territory
without a yelp or a shout.
We worked long and hard,
we created a fire.
we grew it enormous,
Our chances of being saved looming higher.

The fire lasted,
through the night
and we soon spotted
a joyful sight
Circling above us in the air,
was a rescue team;
they had spotted our cry for help
our condition was not as bad as it had started to seem!

We were extracted
from that terrible location,
promising never to get into
such a situation.
But the thing that truly
saved our souls,
was the little sea-creature
showing us never to stray from our goals.

The little marine-dweller
gave me something to use as a rope,
to climb all the way up,
and that little something was nothing but hope.

The Glittering Dot

Oh, look! It's a star,
Ever so bright;
I see it from far,
Brimming with light.
Golden white it is!
Small yet inspiring;
Entrancing is this
Star shat is shining!
I look at it,
from many a light year away;
And yet it holds my gaze,
My eyes unable to stray.
When looked from far,
if something so small
can look so beautiful,
then aren't we all?
Look at it shine!
Against the dark night,
Isn't this magnificent?
This star of might!
Throughout the night,
it glitters and glows,
As light from it,
Like water, flows.
But as the night vanishes,
Where are you wonderful star?
Come out, twinkle!
And shine as the star you are!

I had a dream.....

I looked one way, then the other.
Clouds floating by, light as a feather.
The sun shone bright, above my head,
And it was practically air on which i tread.
I twirled around in the magical light,
What a pretty, pretty sight!
My soul felt real, my mind felt free,
I wish this was forever to be.
The mood was cheerful, the scene so clean,
An impossible vision by me was seen.
Though as my thoughts slowly grew,
I felt a bit heavy and instantly knew.
I let myself fall, dangerously to the ground,
Though it was such a plunge, there wasn't a sound.
I hit the floor hard and fast,
I knew my dream for eternity wouldn't last.
But couldn't I have gotten a little more while,
In reality we are so fragile
But in my dream, I was powerful and strong,
Yet in only dreams, can nothing go wrong.
